The Last Days of December

Autumn shows its scars,
as we enter the Great Night
My soul departs with the last birds of the sky
Leaving the body defenseless to the winds
Carrying the burden of endless memories
Voices from the shore
call me to a restless pain
Messengers of love,
they break my heart again
Shaping the face of an angel in disguise
Into her eyes I wandered, Into her arms I cried

I close my eyes to face the truth (once more)
I’m still afraid of her reflection

It’s 24th today and I wake up with tears
The stars still burning bright
on the commemorative sky
The scars are healed again, all sorrows disappear
We praise the breath of God, the hope, the love, the life
In inner peace I still remember
